I am a Spurs fan, but I was more than happy to see the Mavericks extinguish the Heat last night. The Heat are the Lakers of the east coast, which is to say I am always cheer for them to lose. A team built around an ego maniac and a few other talented players just couldn’t muster the wherewithal to win, even on their home court–just the way I like it. In fact, if the Lakers and Heat just faded into oblivion I wouldn’t miss either.
And be sure to check out this list of why LeBron is the object of so many people’s disdain–I agree wholly.
And if you need any more reason to think he is anything other than some self-aggrandizing, overpaid, and over-hyped goon, here’s a post-game tweet from the so-called “king”: “The Greater Man upstairs know when it’s my time. Right now isn’t the time.”
A few short comments: I hate any reference to God as the “Big Man upstairs” or any such nonsense. Notice that God is the greater man, because, you know, LeBron is a great man. And notice that God knows when it’s LeBron’s time. Not the Heat, not any other team to which he will skip off to to better his chances–his time. It’s all about him. LeBron, he, himself. That’s what it’s about, right LJ?
Way to go, Mavs!
