Just Arrived: UPS Edition

I never get excited when the UPS truck pulls up to the house because they deliver church literature 99% of the time. Today, however, was that other 1%–the arrival of my first review books from Zondervan! They are:

Thanks to Jesse Hillman at Zondervan for graciously sending these review copies! Reviews forthcoming.

  1. John: I requested some titles from Zondervan several months ago but never heard anything. I mentioned such on another blog and the guy who handles review copies happened to read my post and asked me to send my requests to him, and, voilà! Out of curiosity, what titles did you request?

As far as the review of deClaisse-Walford’s book, you may need to get comfortable–it’s still several volumes into the stack!

    1. From Zondervan I believe I requested two volumes by Waltke . . . his Genesis commentary (which I am surely qualified to review) and his fairly recent OT theology, which I also think I can handle. They are volumes I am genuinely interested in . . . perhaps you can shoot an email to your Zondervan contact, mention them, and pass on my email address in case they fell through the cracks with someone else.

  2. I’m working through the OT Survey book right now as well. It’s much better than the OT survey books I had back in my college days. The color pictures are a nice upgrade. 😉

  3. John: Those sound like good reads. I’ll send an email to the folks at Zondervan and see what happens. I’m no Nick Norelli, so I make no promises! 🙂

Andrew: They are both promising. The survey text is quite the behemoth, though, so it will be a while before I get to it!

Robert: And when I share my insights, it is sure to be life-changing for those read them! 🙂

Shaun: The only other OT intro I have is LaSor, Hubbard, and Bush, which is good, but this one is appealing to my eyes! And if it’s Walton, it has to be good!

Michael: Are you reading Kaiser for personal benefit, class, and/or review? I’m eager to get into it!
